Tabitha:
I love BBQ chicken. But I also love switching it up now and again. BBQ sauces can be tasty…but they can also be loaded in sodium (salt). This sauce can be used instead of a BBQ sauce and also as a dipping sauce after it is cooked. Or use it simply as a dipping sauce for chicken fingers!
Food safety tip: raw chicken is a place that bacteria love. Make sure that you clean your hands, knives, cutting boards and any surface that raw chicken touches with hot soapy water. Use a clean plate to transfer the cooked chicken back onto. And do not re-use any honey dill sauce that was brushed on the chicken.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup low-fat mayonnaise
1/2 cup honey
1 tbsp chopped fresh dill (or 2 tsp dried dill)
Chicken breasts
Directions:
1. Mix together mayo, honey and dill. Put 1/2 in a bowl to use as sauce while chicken cooks and set aside 1/2 to serve as dipping sauce.
2. BBQ chicken and add sauce while cooking.
3. Serve with sauce on the side.
